The Traffic Division webpage of the County of Tulare's website is an excellent resource to manage your traffic infractions online. You can retrieve the information related to your traffic infraction citation using your case number, driving license number, or citation number (in conjunction with your date of birth) online. You can also seek assistance in obtaining this information by calling (559) 730-5000 from 8am to 5pm on working days.
Traffic fines can be paid online with major credit cards. Forms required for Trial-By-Declaration, contesting citations, and extensions can be downloaded. Other modes of payment include: money orders, checks, or in person – all payable to the Clerk of the Court. Parking fines need to be paid directly to the parking ticket issuing agency.
A court clerk is not authorized to grant your request to attend traffic school. You are not eligible for traffic violator school correction program if:
- You have attended a traffic school program during last 18-months
- Citation is not a moving vehicle violation that needs a mandatory appearance
- The citation has nothing to do with a DUI or the possession of narcotics
- Citation was issued to you while you were driving a commercial vehicle
- Vehicle code sections 20001, 20002, 23103, 23104, 23105, 23140, 23152, 23153, 23103 are not violated for which the citation was issued.
Administrative charges will be a flat $64.75, the specified bail amount in Courtesy Notice plus the traffic school fees. You can request the traffic school attendance at any of the court locations in-person or by calling 559-730-5000 and paying via a credit card. There is an option to attend an in-classroom course of 8-hours or complete the course through home-study or online.
