The Traffic Division in Sonoma Court, in Sonoma County, allows users to manage a myriad of tasks related to traffic infractions online. The Courtesy Notice contains details including the bail amount, due date for payments, Sonoma County traffic school eligibility among other things. Online and phone payments are not acceptable in case of Trial-By-Declaration or for Contesting the Citation. All other traffic infraction fines, bail amounts, administrative charges, and traffic school fees can be paid online using the payment portal. You can use a credit or debit card or issue an electronic check through your checking account for making the payments. For a monthly payment option, it is mandatory to attend the Walk-in Court.
You are eligible to attend the traffic violator school if:
- Not any traffic violator school has been attended by you in last 18-months
- You hold a valid driver's license issued in California
- A citation was not issued for speeding over 25 miles per hour above the legal limit
- You were not driving a commercial vehicle while the citation was being issued
The Courtesy Notice issued by the Court specifies if you are eligible for the traffic school. Bail amount and administrative charges are also mentioned in the Courtesy Notice. Traffic school fees vary from $25 to $35. Even if the Courtesy Notice states that you are not eligible for traffic school, you can make an appeal to the judge for attending traffic school. If the request becomes granted, you will have to attend traffic school for 12-hours instead of the regular 4-hours.
