More Information - San Joaquin Traffic School

Traffic citations issued by officers of San Joaquin County contain the time and date on which you have agreed to appear in court. Traffic infraction fines can be paid online through the payment portal setup and authorized by the San Joaquin County Superior Court. You can make the payments using your credit or debit card or via your checking or savings account, whatever is easier for you. For parking ticket payments, use can also use the payment portal. All traffic infraction fines can also be paid over the phone by calling (877) 872-0476.

Requesting extensions for citations is possible by contacting the Court Clerk in person, on telephone, or by mail. Your request however should be made before the due date of the citation. If you are not local to San Joaquin County, you can request a Trial by Declaration at the Clerk's Office.

Attending traffic schools is allowed subject to the following conditions:

  • Not any traffic school was attended by you within last 18-months
  • Your citation was not issued for speeding in excess of 100 miles per hour
  • The citation does not require a mandatory appearance

If you are eligible, you can pay the necessary administrative expenses, fines, and traffic school payments online using the payment portal. If you are attending an online traffic school, the school will send an electronic copy of the completion certificate to the DMV directly. For classroom attendance, it's your responsibility to deliver the completion certificate to the court.
