More Information – San Benito Traffic Schools
The Traffic Division of San Benito County Superior Court is the department you need to contact when you are given a traffic infraction citation. You will receive a Courtesy Notice issued by the Traffic Division which will provide you all the information you need about handling your traffic citation.
The payment process or options of the fine mentioned in the citation has to be done before the due date whether or not you receive the courtesy notice. You can make the payment in person or via mail. You can also call the automated phone systems at (831) 636-4027 to pay your fine or choose the online automated payment system to pay the fine through credit cards such as MasterCard and Visa or with one of your ATM debit card(s).
The courtesy notice will also mention whether you are eligible to attend traffic school. There are certain criteria for eligibility that you will have to meet which are:
- You have been cited for a moving violation.
- The violation is not a misdemeanor.
- You are not required to make a mandatory court appearance based on the traffic infraction.
- The violation you were cited for is in no way alcohol related.
- You have not attended traffic school in the past 18 months. The dates are calculated from violation date to violation date.
- You are not a commercially licensed driver. You do not possess any hazardous materials endorsements.
- If you were cited for a speeding violation, it does not exceed 25 mph over the speed limit.
If you meet these criteria and wish to attend traffic school to earn ticket masking, you will have to pay the entire fine amount as well as a sum of $52 for administrative fees before you request traffic school. The DMV approved classroom or online study traffic school you choose will also charge an attendance fee. That is right, you have to pay for this class; a class you do not want to take but need to take since it will save you money in the long run in terms of insurance car costs and hassles.
