More Information - Placer Traffic Court

The Traffic division webpage of Placer County, of the Superior Court of California, helps you to retrieve information in regards to your traffic citations, to make payments for fines, to locate information in regards to bail and administrative charges online, to download the required forms, and to seek help pertaining to traffic infractions.

The Online Case Look-up Utility can be used for tracking the status of your citation. You can pay the fine and any bail amount for traffic infractions online using the link provided above, in the previous sentence. Payments can be made online with credit cards only. Alternatively, you can call (916) 408-6000 for making a payment via the phone. If you plan to make an in-person payment, visit any of the court locations or mail a check along with citation details to P.O. Box 619077, Roseville, CA 95661.

You are eligible to attend traffic school subject to following conditions:

  • You have not undertaken any traffic school study courses during past 18 months
  • The citation was not issued while you were driving a commercial vehicle
  • The driver's license mentioned in the citation is not a commercial driver's license
  • If the traffic ticket was for speeding, you did not exceed the permissible speed limit by 25 miles per hour

Once you have ascertained your eligibility to attend traffic school, depending on the outcome, you need to pay $64 as administrative charges, any applicable fines and traffic school fees online, or by phone. Monthly payment plans are also available. Administrative charges and traffic school fees are non-refundable in case you do not attend the traffic school or are unable to submit a completion certificate on time. Home based and online traffic schools will submit your completion certificate electronically directly to the DMV. In case of you chose to sit in a classroom to attend these courses, it is your responsibility to ensure that the completion certificate is delivered to the DMV before the due date.
