After you have been cited for a traffic infraction, you will receive a courtesy notice. You can access the court automated systems to make payments for the infractions, learn more about your citation and sign up for traffic school, if your courtesy notice says that you have this option. Fines can be paid online, on the phone, via mail, or visiting the office in person.
You may be eligible for a Napa County traffic school if you meet these criteria:
- You haven't attended traffic violator school for at least 18 months prior to the recent citation date
- You have a valid driver's license but not a commercial driver's license
- The violation you were cited for did not happen in a commercial vehicle
- Your vehicle was not cited for a speeding violation that crossed more than 25 mph over the prescribed & posted speed limit
If you are eligible for traffic school, you will have to pay the bail fees as well as state/court administrative fees before you are registered in any approved traffic school.
