More Information - Colusa Traffic Court
While it is not obligatory for the courts of California to send out bail notices, the Traffic Division of the Colusa County Superior Court sends out courtesy notices at the address you listed during the time of the citation. This notice will contain all pertinent information including the total bail amount that needs to be paid, the due date of the payment as well as information about applicable proof of correction.
Payment of the bail amount by the due date is solely your responsibility. The Colusa County Traffic Division makes this task easy for you by providing you with alternative payment options. You can choose to pay via mail or in person through personal checks, certified bank checks, or money orders made payable to the Colusa Superior Court. Please note that cash in the mail is not accepted. You can also pay using your credit cards through the online payment system.
Your courtesy notice will also tell you whether or not you are eligible to attend traffic school. Contact the court for the eligibility criteria. If you are eligible and you wish to attend traffic school, the first thing you need to do is pay the original bail amount as well as the added $52 administrative fee to the court. These payments need to be made by your appearance date.
As per the court policy, only DMV licensed traffic schools are considered permissible. You can access the list of the DMV's licensed traffic school programs here or call them at (916) 229-3126. A further attendance fee will have to be paid to the chosen traffic school. Choosing the right traffic school, attending, and completing the course within the due date prescribed is solely your responsibility.
